Causes :-

The aligenenment of teeth in the jaw hampers when ever there is shortage of space in the jaws. When the jaws are small and teeth are big, teeth either come forward(proclined) or get crowded. If jaws are big or normal and teeth are small there will be gaps between the teeth. These are simple problems which can be effectively handled by an orthodontist. However face might be displeasing if there is no balance between the upper & lower jaws and between the jaws and the face. These jaw dispropotions are called skeletal problems. Age is a very important factor in the management of the skeletal problems, at the growing age some of these skeletal problems can be handled by the use of functional jaw orthopedics. In the later stages these skeletal problems might need surgical treatment
