Bleeding gums

Causes :-

Normal Gingiva Gingivitis
  1. Deposition of tartar ( Deposits of the teeth which are hardened). They irritate the gums and leads to bleeding of the gums on slightest trauma ( eg., during brushing ).

  2. If the patient is having decreased levels of Vitamin C.

  3. If the patient is having blood cancer ( i.e., Leukamia ).

  4. During menstural periods and also during pregnancy, because of hormonal changes.

Solution

  1. Removal of the tartar by dentists either by ultrasonic cleaning or by hand instruments. This sholud be done atleast once in six months.

  2. Vitamin C suppliments like lemon, orange or Vitamin C tablets.
